David Houston is a professional voice talent based in Austin, TX. A broadcast air talent, actor and singer with over two decades' experience, he provides voiceovers for several types of media.

David Houston isn't one to prattle on endlessly. In fact, he tends not to say much at all in everyday conversation.
When he gets in front of a microphone, however, his voice speaks volumes --- even when the words are brief.
David uses his rich baritone to turn books into audiobooks, sell anything from flowers to auto service, educate new employees in orientations, and give life to animated characters. He's impersonated Patrick Stewart at trade shows, Arnold Schwarzenneger on phone messages, and Yoda at a 1,000-guest wedding. All without ever showing up in person.
He began using his voice creatively at 19, as an overnight on-air talent at a San Angelo, TX radio station. Working his way up to Producer and Copywriter for other stations, he spent his off-air hours on-stage in local theatre, singing in musicals and portraying a variety of characters. He relocated to Austin, and after a brief stint in the city's music scene (David is also an accomplished guitarist and composer) and a string of unsatisfying day jobs, he launched his freelance voiceover business in 2005. He has since been praised as "the voice of the tutorials" by Legal Media Inc., a Houston multimedia company, and longtime KLBJ-FM morning host Dale Dudley has said of David, "I wish I had that voice".
These days, he still maintains a day job, but is steadily (and happily) increasing his voiceover workload. He recently signed on with Marla Dell Talent, a San Francisco-based agency representing voiceover artists and actors. He's currently working on an audiobook version of "Tennis Beyond Big Shots" by Greg Moran, and continues to make room daily for clients and businesses interested in his voice work.
