October 11, 2006 (Press Release) --
On the first Wednesday of each month a protest of sorts happens in Vancouver. Instead of rolling over and accepting the real estate market slowdown a group of people have formed a real estate investment group. They plan on investing in property in the Vancouver/Portland area. Many of these groups are formed by the Meetup.com organization made famous by Applebee’s Restaurants. These groups are made up of housewives, real estate agents, homebuilders, investors, college students, etc. They all meet together at least once a month, exchange ideas and decide what piece of real estate to invest in.
Denise Carthern, the Vancouver Investment group organizer says, “This is a great way to meet people and network. I enjoy meeting people that want to learn about investing or have something to teach about investing. As we all know, you can never know too much about investing. We all felt that if the market is slowing down for individuals why not pool our funds together and keep going? Some people come to learn, some people come to share what they have learned over the years. It is fascinating. All skill levels are welcome, we all learn something everytime.” For additional information about the Vancouver meeting including location and times go to: http://realestate.meetup.com/356/
