Mildly prepared street cars with appropriate safety equipment will compete in Showroom Stock classes which include the popular Mazda Miata and other current sports cars. More highly prepared cars will compete in Production and GT categories which include Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, as well as Porsches and other higher performance cars. There are classes for purpose-built Formula and Sports Racer cars which include single-seat Formula Vee, Formula Ford, and Formula Atlantic, as well as Spec Racer Ford, Sports 2000, C and D Sports Racer.
This weekend will feature 100 mile road races for all Midwestern Council Championship Series classes as well as generous practice and qualifying sessions, resulting in approximately two hours of on-track time for all drivers. Co-Drivers are encouraged to participate, and Drivers may enter their cars for a second race if their car meets the specs for the alternate race car class. This is a great event for the whole family with Trick-or-Treating and Big Wheel races arranged for the youngsters.
Trophies awarded to all participants. The Blackhawk Farms track facility will be open on Friday evening (October 20th) for Registration, Tech, and establishing your paddock area.
Other Activities
For the youngsters - make sure to bring your costumes! Trick or Treat at the BFR corner stations during lunch break on Saturday. Then on Sunday we’ll have the Jerry Smith Big Wheel Races. So load up your Big Wheel (or similar) and join us on the main straight of Blackhawk Farms Raceway during the noon lunch break on Sunday. Special T-shirts and certificates awarded to all entrants. Pick up your entry form at either Tech or at the BW Registration. Group 1 ages 1-2, Group 2 ages 3-5, Group 3 ages 6-8
Race Staff – your favorite drivers will be providing Race Staff Rides in race cars (with appropriate seating and safety equipment) at the end of the day on Saturday (weather and daylight permitting)! Get a taste of the on-track excitement. If you are interested in working a corner or other Race Staff specialty, join us by 8:30 AM for an orientation session and staff assignment on either day
For Everyone - Saturday evening – Complimentary Pizza and your favorite beverages in the Pavilion.
Guest and Crew Fees
Crew Pass: $10.00
Guest Pass: $10.00 (good for all weekend activities)
While Midwestern Council Road Races are not sanctioned as spectator events, we are always happy to admit prospective members as Guests.
Blackhawk Farms Raceway is a closed course road racing facility located in South Beloit, Illinois, just Northwest of Rockton, Illinois. The track is a 1.95 Miles Road Race Course consisting of 7 corners, two straights and hard braking technical sections. Blackhawk Farms Raceway hosts many National, Regional and Local Racing Events throughout the racing season. Hampshire, IL -- Chicagoland Sports Car Club will present the grand finale to The Midwestern Council’s 48th racing season, with the 36th annual running of “That Loooong Race”® at Blackhawk Farms.
