There will be formal dinner party and silent auction on Friday evening, December 8th, at the Bloomfield Tennis Academy, Bloomfield, Connecticut from 6:30 to 10:00 pm. Business formal dress is required. The charities being supported are the CT Junior Tennis League (CJTL), the Greater Hartford Youth Tennis Association (GHYTA) and the Tim and Tom Gullikson Foundation. Make sure to reserve your spot, as seats are limited. Special rates available prior to November 15th.
On Saturday, December 9th the tennis festivities continue at 9:00 AM with Adult and Junior tennis clinics, Pro-Am, Fast Serve contests and hit for prizes throughout the day. Saturday's festivities include lunch and conclude at 5:00 PM. The event benefits three tennis charities. “We are truly excited about supporting the growth of tennis and being a part of building a stronger community in the Greater Hartford area with children and adults alike,” stated Edith Morales, event director. Eric Morales, the Head Pro at Bloomfield Tennis Academy, will be on hand to assist with the Pro-Am. He has been as high as top 200 in the world and currently works with some of the satellite players trying to make it on the Pro Tour.
Tim Mayotte, from Springfield, MA, is the former world’s #7 professional tennis player. His serve and volley game earned him the NCAA singles title in 1981 as well as the men's singles Silver Medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. Mayotte has reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon and the Australian Open. He has won 12 singles titles and 1 doubles title.
