October 20, 2006 (Press Release) --
Federal Express rescued dozens of Diamonds from Customs Authorities today.
The diamonds, valued between US$330 and US$3,700 each, were caught in Customs in Australia while delays in paper processing caused confusion and controversy.
Destined for legitimate buyers in Australia and New Zealand, FedEx representatives not wanting to be identified said some packages were retained and inspected by authorities due to incomplete or damaged paperwork.
The problem was soon rectified as copies of the papers were sealed within the cartons.
All affected diamonds were released from hold and securely transported by FedEx today.
It is believed to be the first such incident of its type involving the deliveries which have been routinely shipped without delay or hinderence since March 2006.
Officials verified that all items had been released and were being delivered to the addressee's.
A related story saw the release of a new website for the Independent Diamond Traders today.
