October 27, 2006 (Press Release) --
Angelina Jolie can't escape the baby rumors — though having a brood of three already probably doesn't help. The gossip mags aren't pointing to a bulging belly this time around; apparently Jolie and her Mr. & Mrs. Smith counterpart are looking to take hope an Indian baby by Christmas. She first adopted now 5-year-old Maddox from a Cambodian orphanage in 2002 and Ethiopian Zahara in 2005, and the Lara Croft star is rumored to have visited the Priva Darshini orphanage last month in India where she is currently filming A Mighty Heart — with Brad Pitt at her side. In the film, she plays Mariane Pearl, the wife of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was beheaded by Islamic fanatics.
Ferrell Goes Semi-Pro
Is it time to start printing T-shirts with the slogan "Will Knows Sports?" New Line has greenlighted Semi-Pro, a '70s basketball comedy for Will Ferrell, bringing his sport-oriented film count to three with his racing blockbuster Talladega Nights and upcoming figure-skating Blades of Glory. He'll play Jackie Moon, the flamboyant owner/player/coach behind the Flint, Michigan, Tropics during the American Basketball Association's last year. Old School's Scott Armstrong will write, and Woody Harrelson, who perfected his hoops skills in White Men Can't Jump, will co-star. And, um, New Line's exec VP Kent Alterman will make his directoring debut. … In other frat-boy-movie news, the Farrelly brothers' next will be The Baster, a romantic comedy about infertility, based on a short story from The Virgin Suicides author Jeffrey Eugenides.
