October 27, 2006 (Press Release) --
MADRID — Upstart Spanish broadcaster Cuatro has picked up two more Yank skeins, cable hits “Eureka”, from the Sci-Fi channel, and TNT’s “Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King.”
“Eureka” will screen on the Sogecable-owned Cuatro at year end. No decision has been taken on when “Dreamscapes” will bow.
Using U.S. series to target young adult auds, Cuatro ratcheted up an impressive 6.5% audience share in September after broadcasting for a mere ten months.
Its star performer is “House,” whose second season bowed to 19.7% and 17.9 % for its first and second episodes, Oct.17 and Oct.24.
“We are in negotiations on other series,” confirmed Fernando Jerez, Cuatro program and programming director.
