November 1, 2006 (Press Release) --
Even without PlayStation 3, which won't now be seen until March, they have the widest choice of old and new consoles there has ever been on the market.
Sony has the soon-to-be outgoing PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable (PSP); Microsoft has Xbox and Xbox 360 which has already sold 100,000 units in Australia.
Nintendo has its old but popular Game Boy Advance, its newer generation DS, the retiring GameCube and its new console, the Wii, which will hit the stores on December 7.
Then of course, there is the PC which has enjoyed renewed popularity thanks to the booming online gaming market and titles such as World of Warcraft and Everquest.
With such a wide choice of platforms it is little wonder that game developers have been working overtime to have a record number of new titles available for the Christmas rush.
