November 5, 2006 (Press Release) --
Frequent visit of foreign delegates particularly from non-English speaking countries has triggered the demand for language interpreters.
"Such services are sought when products get localised. There is a felt need for communicating effectively in none other than the local language and this is no longer an option, but an imperative need,'' Mr V.R. Sasidar, Managing Director, Lyric Labs.
This Coimbatore-headquartered company offers Net-enabled translation services to corporates across the world. "Translation services are getting organised as a full-time profession and the demand for professional language interpreters is on the rise,'' Mr Sasidar told Business Line.
US co tie up
To bridge this gap and make interpretation services cost-effective, the company has signed an MoU with an US-based service provider — Tele-Languages — for translation of conversations (tele-interpretation). "We have also signed up with a few German companies for multi-lingual publishing,'' he said.
To facilitate the tele-interpretation service, the company has sought a toll-free number, and is confident of getting it in a week's time. It is in the process of rolling out more products under the translation umbrella.
"The company has about 60 million words on various disciplines to its credit.
