The dove, a traditional symbol of the Christian message has taken on new meaning. "We envision the dove icon of ChristianIpod.Net on every Christian's desktop in 2 years time" said Company Founder Kevin Stillmock.
First there was radio, then came television, but now is the Ipod age. And, ChristianIpod.Net is ready for it. They have recently launched a preloaded portable player that "catches" the best of Christian audio and video programming that is distributed using technology called "podcasting." "The user simply clicks on the dove icon on there desktop and a portable player opens. Then they select the programs they want to hear or watch and they are quickly downloaded. New programs become available throughout the day" said site designer Julia Comisu further adding "then they can listen directly on there computer or download to there Ipod, other Mp3/4 player of mobile telephone and then watch and listen at there convenience."
ChristianIpod.Net envisions Christians getting inspired and filled with the faith while driving to work, excising in the gym, sitting on the subway or in an airplane all through a device small enough to fit into a pants pocket.
"Like any technology, it's all how you use it" says Stillmock. "For a long time I didn't know what the potential of Ipod was, then one day I had an epiphany experience." "I envisioned people across America and the world with a small device that kept them constantly inspired and motivated and reminded them of what is the real meaning of life ." "Television and radio don't have this potential - the devices aren't necessarily portable and you are bound by the broadcast schedule of each operator." "Ipod is unique. You can build an on demand library of Christian programming and keep updating it with no re-occurring subscriptions fee and take it with you wherever you go."
The feeling that this is a god-sent is not unique to Stillmock. Countless pastors across America are realizing what potential the Ipod offers them. In addition to a growing number of local pastors, Christian personalities like Joel Osteen, Robert Schueller, Max Lucado and Joyce Meyer produce regularly updated audio and video content. While broadcasting over the internet and even delivery to Ipod of Christian material existed before ChristianIpod.Net came along, they have advanced it to the next level.
ChristianIpod.Net operates something like a cable line-up. "You have about 50 audio and video channels from various Christian pastors, personalities, news sources and more. You choose the channels that interest you and have on-demand access to an ever updating list of programs ranging from one minute to over an hour." explained Comisu.
If you need help finding what's on, an online programming guide is offered in the one time license fee of $9.95 that includes the download of the portable player. ChristianIpod.Net does not require ownership of an Ipod. It's designers are quick to point out that an
