November 5, 2006 (Press Release) --
It is difficult to find employment in the best of times. Despite manipulated goverment statistics that indicate the "Economy is Hot" the truth is, its not.
Many people with degrees and a wealth of experience are struggling to make ends meet. They continue to be the hidden and working poor.
So when prestigious organizations such as UFC, K1 & Pride want to invest in both Canada and the United States and they are blocked in one area by outdated and antiquated laws, they invest somewhere else. Much is the case with Ontario and Quebec as an example: Ontario uses outdated and antiquated laws to ban something that is perfectly legal in Quebec and other provinces--using the same federal statute.
The same is true for area in the United States. Some states that have allowed it and now have banned it due to flip-flop policies.
Sports have long been a venue where people can overcome economic barriers and truly succeed. They create employment opportunities for others.
When this path to success is stifled, it means entrepreneurship is stifled.
Governments loose tax revenue that can be reinvested into the economy as well as business that invest/ reinvest and create employment opportunitites.
It is time for bureaucrats and politicians to stop being self-serving by protecting their own jobs and looking at what will take the economy to frition.
Looking forward to consistent approval to allow companies like UFC, K1 & Pride to bring their professional quality to anywhere--especially Ontario: time for it to be in Toronto.
