November 5, 2006 (Press Release) --
"We've made some noticeable changes that should improve the reader experience," said 'Small Market Sports' creator Bill Charbonneau, "including simplifying the website's interface, adding a blog, and making the comic artwork larger so it would be easier to read online."
Long time 'Small Market Sports' readers needn't worry about the changes: “Despite the site improvement, the core of the humour remains exactly the same,” assured Charbonneau.
With a cast of characters made of personified sports equipment, 'Small Market Sports' regularly lampoons current headlines and rumours in the world of sports.
"Our best humour usually stems from a place of honesty and personal frustration about professional sports," said Charbonneau. "In fact, the idea for 'Small Market Sports' germinated from the announcement that Major League Baseball was going to contract the Montreal Expos - my Montreal Expos. A reaction from a heartbroken fan."
New comics are posted on SmallMarketSports.com every Monday.
About Small Market Sports
In the remote regions of eastern Canada sits the great city of SMALL MARKET, home to many struggling pro sports franchises, each with their own disenchanted and frustrated fan base. In Small Market, however, it's not only the fans that are unhappy with their professional sports teams' performances on and off the field (or ice, as the case may be) -- the sports equipment isn't all too jazzed about it either!
Regularly lampooning current sports headlines, Small Market Sports is a weekly sports-themed comic strip created by Montreal-based cartoonist Bill Charbonneau.
About BoneFlake Studios, Inc.
Canadian-based BoneFlake Studios is an independent publisher of newspapers and online comics.
