November 5, 2006 (Press Release) --
Many of the online poker sites on the internet have stated they will not be leaving the US market. Those poker sites are listed at www.compatiblepoker.com/usa.php which is a page that tracks US online poker news.
The Unlawful Internet Gambling act was passed to put pressure on the deposit methods used to fund internet poker accounts. These deposit methods use the United States banking system which the new law will make illegal for these banks to continue as they were.
The poker sites which have not left the US market say that they are privately held and believe online poker is a game of skill and is not gambling. Many arguments are being held at poker forums about the new law and it’s guidelines which seem somewhat grey.
Poker players continue to await their fate when the US government issues guidelines that the US banks will have to follow. After this many of the 3rd party deposit methods will also make their decision on the US gambling market.
For now all this information on the US poker laws and sites staying open to the US are being tracked at www.compatiblepoker.com/usa.php
