November 6, 2006 (Press Release) --
Mischa Barton's Malice In Sunderland: Classic tale gets a twist
It must be the day for fantasy stories getting the modernisation treatment. Because OC star Mischa Barton has signed up to star in a contemporary re-telling of Alice In Wonderland.
Malice In Sunderland (see what they did there, eh?) will find Alice as an American student struck by a London taxi. When she wakes up, she finds herself disorientated in Sunderland, faced with a strange underworld peopled by stranger characters.
Simon Fellows will start cranking the cameras on Jayson Rothwell’s script next year here in the UK.
Number 23 Trailer Is Up: Jim Carrey's going book-crazy...
Is Jim Carrey slowly losing his mind? Well, after no less than three films he’s planned to star in this year have fallen apart, you can’t blame him for being a little paranoid.
But we’re actually talking about his latest film, in which ol’ rubber chops Carrey turns off the gurning for a fresh shot at “serious”. Number 23 seems him playing Walter Sparrow, a man whose life seems ordinary. But when his wife (Virginia Madsen) buys him a book called Number 23, a thriller that seems to be following his life story, Walter starts to unravel. Is his going crazy? Is it a dream, or is there a Massive, Number-Obsessed Conspiracy?
