Six months after the successful launch of South Africa’s Shopping Search Engine (www.jump.co.za), the first online shopping product results are out and technology products are topping the lists in all areas. The Jump Shopping Catalogue gets populated with product and product information from various online stores in South Africa on a daily basis, enabling the consumer to search for the best price at the best online store in South Africa.
The search for IPOD topped the ranks week after week and after the launch of XBOX 360 the race for the top word is still on. The race between IPOD and XBOX is on par in comparison to Google Trends for the same two words.
Top Search Words:
1. IPOD
2. XBOX 360
3. GPS
4. DVD
5. PSP
6. NOTEBOOK
7. WATCHES
8. MEMORY
9. LCD
10. PLASMA TV
Even though the list is only for the top 10 words, one of the biggest climbers on the list in the last six months is the word: BABY and this would hopefully be in the top 10 with the next results. It is very clear that mothers are making use of online shopping more than ever before.
“The number of searches on Jump Shopping increased month by month, and with 80% of traffic on Jump Shopping generated by excellent Google and Search Engine Rankings, we are more than optimistic that 2007 would be an excellent year for Jump Shopping” says Bredenhann, co-owner of Jump Shopping. In the last 30 days Jump Shopping had more than 1,200,000 page views from approximately 50,000 unique visitors.
