November 12, 2006 (Press Release) --
Dying art of Oriental Rug Care is alive and well on Vancouver Island!
Stephen "Dusty" Roberts, owner of Luv-A-Rug Services inc, a Victoria B.C. based textile care firm is in the business of restoring special oriental rugs. Over this year, as part of his ongoing commitment to excellence, Dusty travelled all the way to Dallas TX to attend the highly regarded class on oriental care by Ellen Amirkan and Aaron Groseclose, both highly regarded and internationally respected textile care experts.
Dusty goes on to explain that Ellen and Aaron are co-authors of a ground breaking new book entitled "A comprehensive guide to Oriental and Specialty Rug Cleaning". This amazing book has finally exposed all the old rug cleaning secrets that have been so jealously guarded by the Armenian American community in our country for over 100 years. Up to now it was near impossible to become a real expert in this field so he is especially delighted to have had his firm personally chosen as the first from the Houston area to be mentored by the top experts in the entire country.
In addition to the ongoing education in oriental rug care Dusty has been investing heavily in his outfitting his new, state of the art rug cleaning facility in Victoria and is especially proud of his newest invention, the RugBadger. This new machine has been heralded in our rug care community as the long lost "missing link" for oriental rug care. It does the equivalent of what grandma used to do many years ago when she would put a rug up over the line and beat it with the stick. The amazing thing about this new tool is how well it digs out all the abrasive, damaging, life shortening soil along with all the allergens that so many of his clients are allergic to, yet is is amazingly gentle. "The real shocker is seeing this tool in action". Dusty goes on to say "Sometimes i will have clients actually bring me rugs that in-home carpet cleaners have just freshly cleaned in their homes, but are unhappy with the results. We will always run our RugBadger over these to see what comes out. It truly is a jaw dropper to see what comes out with just one quick pass with our RugBadger. We often will scoop up the sediments, bag them up and show our clients.
Dusty goes on to say; "By combining our already extensive experience in Oriental rug care, our new certification as "Master Rug Care Technicians" and our new state of the art rug care facility, we are ready to care for your families treasured heirloom rugs.
