AUSTIN, Texas – November 20, 2006 – The Soup Peddler, Austin’s soup and full-cooked meal delivery service, has joined Operation Turkey in its mission to feed Austin’s homeless population on Thanksgiving.
The Soup Peddler will work with Operation Turkey to prepare and package Thanksgiving meals. “The Soup Peddler’s state-of-the-art kitchen is exactly what we have been searching for as we get ready to prepare Thanksgiving meals for Austin’s homeless.” stated Richard Bagdonas, Managing Director of Operation Turkey.
“The Operation Turkey program has grown each year and we are excited to join forces with them to tackle such a worthy cause,” said David Ansel, Owner of the Soup Peddler, “It fits perfectly with our dedication to the Austin community.”
Last year nine teams worked with Operation Turkey to provide food and clothing to hundreds of people. Operation Turkey engages its members with guidance, support and resources. This year the organization has increased its volunteer base by over 830% and will utilize the Soup Peddler’s facilities to prepare meals for Austin and surrounding areas.
