November 21, 2006 (Press Release) --
No more chaotic piles of paperwork, no more frustrations when routine eye exams run behind schedule. Keystone View’s VS-V Series computerized vision screeners are the first products to combine the company’s Visionary Testing Software with the full line of classic Keystone View diagnostic instruments. The result provides school nurses, clinicians, and occupational health professionals with quick, comprehensive eye exam control and database record keeping capabilities.
"Working with nearly any PC, the new Visionary Software automates the testing process, using a standardized script, and lets you control the test instrument remotely from the computer station,” said Gifford Mast, Keystone View owner and president. “For recording results, Visionary Testing Software lets you customize a database to your needs, so you can easily access, analyze and report your results, the way you want to see them.”
According to Mast, unlike an Internet-based or completely computerized vision screener, the VS-V Series instruments will test how effectively a subject sees in everyday life. The VS-V Series diagnostic units illuminate its test targets with reflected light - how things are seen in the outside world - rather than asking subjects to view targets on a backlit, flickering computer screen that only represents how people see images on a computer.
The standardized screening script and prompting incorporated into the Visionary Testing Software allows an examiner to screen 10 vision functions in less than 5 minutes. These functions include acuity (near, far, intermediate and/or hyperopia), color perception, peripheral vision and binocularity (fusion, phoria, suppression). The results are automatically compiled into an easy to access database. Reports can be customized and printed in the format that suits your company best.
The Visionary Testing Software can be quickly installed on any IBM compatible PC or laptop computer with a Windows 98/2000/XP operating system and a CD drive (installation only). VS-V Series machines are also operable without computers and can be bought without the complete Visionary Software package. A free demonstration version of the software is automatically included with any screener purchase.
