Kimball Hill Homes is once again participating in a holiday toy drive to benefit a south Dallas outreach center

National homebuilder, Kimball Hill Homes, announced it is once again participating in an annual holiday drive to benefit an outreach center, in south Dallas, which provides an opportunity for approximately 200 families and 500 children in Lancaster, Wilmer and Hutchins to have a Merry Christmas.
Collection boxes for new, unwrapped gifts, such as toys, books, clock radios, games, etc., for children ages 1 to 14 will be located at each of the builder’s 7 Dallas/Ft. Worth area communities as well as its main Dallas area office, located at 3010 LBJ Freeway, Suite 1100, now through December 14. Kimball Hill has been building fine homes throughout the United States on the 65-year tradition of the Hill family while leading the industry with innovative approaches to construction and community design. The outreach center’s Christmas Shoppe is not just a toy give-away but a lesson in personal responsibility. Once a family is qualified for the Christmas Shoppe, the families are able to purchase toys for each child for only twenty percent of the total cost. In essence, a person can provide their child with $50 worth of toys but only pay $10. The Christmas Shoppe program enables qualified clients to go home feeling proud of their ability to actually purchase Christmas toys for their children, ultimately promoting dignity and self-sufficiency. In addition, each family also receives a free turkey, several sacks of groceries, and other free items. In 2005, the outreach center, received over $24,000 worth of donated toys that went to 480 children from 198 families.
This year, Kimball Hill Homes is giving away a Rooms To Go® gift certificate as part of the Holiday Toy Drive. When visitors bring in a new, unwrapped toy to a Kimball Hill community through December 14th, they are automatically entered to win the Rooms To Go® gift certificate, valued at $500.
“The spirit of giving embraces everyone during the holidays and having such a wonderful bonus as the Rooms To Go® gift certificate to be given away is our way of saying thank you to the many generous people who donate toys for our Toy Drive this year,” said Kelly Hoodwin, sales and marketing manager.
Visitors dropping off a toy should see a sales consultant for complete contest rules. Only one entry per person for the Rooms To Go® gift certificate. No purchase is necessary to win. Winner will be randomly drawn on December 18, 2006. Rooms To Go® is not a participant or sponsor in this promotion.
