November 21, 2006 (Press Release) --
On Showtime's hit show "Weeds" Craig X plays the owner of a medical marijuana club, which are literally growing like weeds all over the State of California, and in real life he is the owner of the Bible based pro-pot Temple 420 on Hollywood's Walk-of-Fame.
It was Friday Novemeber 3, 2006 when Kevin Nealon was a guest on KTLA's morning show. He was discussing the final episode of Weeds when asked about consultants for the show. The anchor asked if the show had "pot consultants" the way West Wing had political consultants.
Nealon said, "Yes, Craig X is a consultant for the show and in real life grows medical marijuana on Hollywood Blvd."
The KTLA anchor asked, "What does he put on his taxes?"
Nealon's answer got a huge laugh, "I think he has the same accountant as Wesley Snipes."
That day, November 3rd at 2:15pm, undercover Officer Trayce Fields joined Temple 420, the CA not-for-profit religious organization, and purchased 3.5 grams of some high quality cannabis, "Purple Power." That evening Craig X Rubin, the General Pharmer, was a call in guest on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory speaking about Temple 420 and a dream Reverend Craig X Rubin has for the future.
On November 8, 2006 twenty armed LAPD officers from a Narcartics Enforcement Detail (NED) stormed Temple 420 and arrested three people at gun point. Arrested was Reverend Craig X Rubin, his son and an unnamed employee. "We know that our civil rights have been violated and we just want our day in court."
All bank accounts have been seized by the government before the Temple has been convicted of anything. In fact charges have, as of the filing of this story, not been filed against the Temple. When police raided the Temple and the Reverend explained that he was protected by the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 the police fired back, "This is not a real religion."
"It is my opinion," says Reverend X, "that the police should not be making that kind of judgement call."
Members of Temple 420 think that cannabis is the plant written about in the Book of Revelation Chapter 22 that is "for the healing of all nations."
As people who worship the God of the Bible it was an insult to be told, "This is not a real religion."
Revernd Craig X Rubin asked, "Aren't we going to have to swear on the Bible when we testify in court?"

Temple 420 located at 7095 Hollywood Blvd was raided the other night. The owner has been involved with Weeds on Showtime and this seems to be a career choice.
