November 23, 2006 (Press Release) --
When magician and ventriloquist Joe Libby next appears at The Blue Cactus Café,
located at 13525 Wetmore Road, San Antonio, Texas, he will utilize the services of a very special assistant: Blue Cactus owner Sian Greenwood. Greenwood will find herself in apparent danger when she assists Libby with his “death-defying” sword illusion.
Libby doesn’t want to worry people who will be bringing their children to The Blue Cactus’s family night. “The illusion looks real, but it is just that, an illusion,” he said. “And it’s played for laughs, so adults and kids will get a kick out of it.”
Libby appears one Tuesday a month at The Blue Cactus Café as a part of the restaurant’s “Family Night” promotional effort to bring diners to the restaurant.
The sword illusion is only part of Libby’s act. Presenting both a short stage show and
close-up magic at the tables, Libby keeps families entertained while they enjoy their evening at the restaurant.
"It’s gone tremendously well,” said Libby. “The kids light up when I teach them an easy magic trick or when my ventriloquist puppet, Sagebrush, makes them laugh. The adults love it when they seemingly are able to read my mind!”
You can try to catch Joe at his tricks on Tuesday, August 22, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Call The Blue Cactus Café at 210-355-0587 for reservations.
