November 25, 2006 (Press Release) --
A nationwide search for the voices of ‘Simone and Elvis’, the spokescats for a new stem cell awareness campaign at UCLA (*N.A.R.L.A.) is underway. Voiceover artists and actors from any of the 50 states are welcome to audition. The two winners will find themselves center stage in a countrywide debate that presently surrounds this controversial issue.
"Stem cell research is one of the most exciting new areas for scientific study.” said Dr. Gail Wyatt, Associate Director of the UCLA AIDS Institute. “Stem cell derived remedies have the potential to help cure some devastating diseases and we are delighted to have Simone and Elvis helping make youth and adults aware of the work that is ongoing."
In addition to raising awareness of the need for increased stem cell research at the local and national level, Simone and Elvis need the right human voices to accomplish another important goal; helping to dispel some of the confusion and misconceptions that surround the volatile subject.
Applicants from all over the US have from Nov. 25 through Feb. 25 to submit resumes and audio clips. Interested candidates should first visit the web-site www.simoneandelvis.com to learn more about the project and the submission guidelines. Application packages should be mailed to:
