Food, of course, is a close second in survival with shelter and sanitation a close third. These items increase chances of survival exponentially, assuming individuals survive the initial disaster.
But when and if the "Big One" hits, the levees break again or a fire burns close, people will need to take action. Grab the kids, the pets, the photos and the survival kits and go. It is time to put the family plans and survival kits into action.
