One of the biggest and most successful e-commerce websites ever created is ebay.com where individuals may auction off personal property and where store managers may transact with buyers worldwide. The company, eBay Inc. survived ups and downs in the markets over the years and currently ranks as one of the top ten most visited sites on the entire internet.
Science fiction fans worldwide have congregated at the company’s website searching for rare and interesting collectibles and are rarely disappointed. One of the most popular categories on the website is that of the Star Wars action figures.
The older figures from the late 70s and 80s became legendary for their value in 1999 with the release of the first new film of the prequel trilogy, The Phantom Menace. Toys sold initially for a few bucks soared to value in the hundreds of dollars and middle-aged folks across the country searched their basements and garages looking for the gold that lay in possessing a rare figure.
Now that the prequel trilogy is finished and the hype has cooled off, new fans are stuck wishing they had gotten the Episode I figures released by Hasbro in 1999 since they haven’t been available in stores since then. Many people have sold their partial collections on ebay.com to these newer fans but a young man from American Fork, Utah, has just posted what some would call “the most complete Episode I collection ever offered on ebay.com” to buyers worldwide.
The collection’s owner, Tyler Ellison, stated “some would say it’s not complete and name some arcane mysterious action figure or misprint card or deluxe package that’s not included. Those folks are just jealous and wish they had a collection this complete.”
The collection’s item number is 220060006566 and the auction will end Sunday, December 17, unless the ever popular “buy it now” option is chosen by a buyer.
