Madison Gallery, a Dealer of Contemporary and Modern Fine Arts, has officially opened at 1020 Prospect in La Jolla, California. Founded in 1986 by Lorna York in Boston, MA, Madison Gallery represents a diverse group of artists from the mystical expressionist Jamali, Renzo, Fidel Garcia, Tarnowski, Kazandjian, and sculptors Christopher Shultz and Boban. Additionally, Madison Gallery plans to host major exhibitions by Warhol, Lichtenstein, Haring, Basquiat and the Modern Masters such as Picasso, Miro, and Chagall.
Executive Director Alex Salazar holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies and Art History from Harvard University, a Masters of Arts in Sociology and Art from Boston College, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from The Colorado College. He has advised individual collectors and corporate collections worldwide for over 10 years. Locally, he served as Board of Trustee for El Centro Cultural De La Raza in Balboa Park – a non-profit organization whose mission is to create, promote, preserve and educate about Mexicana/o, Chicana/o, Latina/o and Indigenous art and culture.
