The rush is still on at The Gold Rush, the Sun-Times' ongoing blog of pre-Oscars, pre-Golden Globes, pre-Grammys and other awards show news, predictions and hoopla.
For_Immediate_Release:

December 25, 2006 (Press Release) -- Whatever we know leading up to the red carpets and gold statuettes, we post. Keep track of all the buzz at blogs.suntimes.com/awards.

Here's a look at what's new there now:
• Complete lists of the major nominations, such as Golden Globes and Grammys. Oscars to come on Jan. 23 -- just one month away!

• This interesting trivia from Chicago native Jennifer Hudson upon hearing of her Golden Globe nomination for supporting actress (for her role in "Dreamgirls"): ''This is my first time ever acting, other than working on a cruise ship.''

• Lots of scuttlebutt about the alleged friction between Hudson (who's getting all the Oscar buzz) and her "Dreamgirls" co-star Beyonce (who's not getting much). Beyonce claims there's nothing to it ("I'm already a star!" she claims in one posted story), but fans reacted to a post about alleged tension between the dreamy girls backstage at "Oprah." One reader, "kscott," writes, "Wow B- showed her true catty ways with this one.... she needs to realize that everyone can see through her snide remarks and that only makes jennifer look more like a lady.... the girl can sing simply put... stick to what you know B...."

• A regular weekly Awards Tracker, listing various '06 films and the awards they've received thus far from various other groups in the run up to the Oscars.

• A look at the official Oscars poster, designed with famous lines from 70 years of famous films, including ''I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!'', ''I'm the king of the world!'', ''I'm ready for my close-up'' and ''Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."

• A complete calendar of awards show deadlines and dates. Oscars nomination ballots just went into the mail, and the SAG awards are coming up!

• The Dallas critics, who have a great track record, already have predicted a Best Picture winner -- and it may surprise you.

• And perhaps the biggest news of all: No celebrity gift baskets this year?!
