December 27, 2006 (Press Release) --
Birmingham, MI – Patooties’ Spring/Summer line does more than accessorize today’s woman, it enhances her spiritual essence. Designed and made in Israel – the land of all faiths – by Sea Smadar and Hely’s Designs, this season’s collection is full of meaningful ancient Judeo/Christian spiritual and historical cultural symbols that encourage today’s woman to live each day with a certain awareness.
Sea Smadar: Ancient Symbols and Heirloom Feel in Modern Design
While modern in design, Sea Smadar’s use of dark natural leathers and matted pewters and nickels give each piece of jewelry an heirloom appearance. Sea Smadar uses Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism) symbols that teach of bringing G-d’s light into each woman’s life to thereby control her own destiny. This season’s line contains many models with Kabbalah crowns, teaching the power to actualize potential; the Shema Yisrael, the most important prayer of asking G-d to hear our prayers; and a Kabbalah statement protecting its wearer against the evil eye. Sea Smadar also uses ancient symbols that are heavily used in Christian art including the Fleur-de-Lis and Celtic Knots. In addition to these religious icons, this collection contains one of the most universal symbols in the world – the heart. Historically seen as the seat of the soul responsible for human thought, the heart is now known as the symbol of love.
Hely’s Designs: Protection Against the Evil Eye through Captivating Jewelry
Hely’s Designs adds flair to one of the most practiced Kabbalah symbol, the Red String. Used as a protector for centuries, the Red String is a symbol of Rachel the Matriarch’s powerful protective energy against those who possess a destroying negative force, the Evil Eye. With its charms of a heart, Hamsa, and the Corno (Italian horn that wards off the Evil Eye), these red string bracelets add extra Evil Eye protection to the traditional version. Hely’s Designs also mixes Kabbalah symbols with contemporary design. Many pieces in this collection contain Hamsas, the ancient hand amulet, shielding the five senses and symbolizing the protective hand of the Creator. This captivating Swarovski crystal wrap bracelet (on right above) has a touch of Kabbalah with tiny Hamsas/center eyes dangling from the metal and suede weaved chain.
This season’s jewelry makes thought provoking spiritual statements. However, women will choose to wear it to make a statement of a different kind; a stunning fashion statement that nobody can ignore.
