December 28, 2006 (Press Release) --
An ebay auctioneer wants to send his patrons on a quest! The seller, bioranger, is currently auctioning off what he calls a mystery quest to save a family’s history. It is an auction for a box of hundreds of photos that he is hoping some one will use to find clues to discover who the mystery family is. He then wants the winning patron to find the family who are in these pictures and return their treasure trove of long lost photos to them. It says on his auction that he had attained these photos in a unit he had bought at a storage auction, and the girl who owned the storage unit appears to have been involved in some shady business, so he wonders if these photos may have been taken without the consent of the family they belong to. Could this be a new type of auction on ebay? It’s kind of like a real life game with a purpose. It will be interesting to see if someone will take the challenge and, more importantly how much they will be willing to pay for the privilege and even more importantly then that, will this large lot of photos find their way back to the family that they belong to. Keep an eye on this auction; it may just spawn a whole new genre of ebay madness. It’s not the Holy Grail, but it is still an interesting “quest” on some level. Will it be a Good Samaritan who wins or some Photoshop deviant with to much time on his hands? Your guess is as good as mine, but I’m rooting for a happy reunion.

An auction that sends you on a quest to solve a mystery? But that's what it is. This auction is for a quest to save a family's long lost history. A treasure trove of hundreds of photos!
