FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 9, 2007 -- Charleston, WV – Since its launch in 2005, Troop Soup Magazine has been a beacon of support for the men and women of the armed services, veterans and their families throughout West Virginia. Through articles, interviews, photo galleries and special events, the magazine’s simple mission has always been to support military members of the Mountain State.

Traditionally, Troop Soup Magazine has shared information and resources with the West Virginia community as an internet publication, until now. Late last year, magazine officials announced plans to take their support for the military community to the next level. Beginning in April of 2007, Troop Soup Magazine will hit newsstands statewide and be made available to the general public through standard subscriptions.

“During our travels through West Virginia in 2006”, said Scott Gilliam, publisher and founder of Troop Soup, “one question kept coming up in conversations with supporters. When are you going to print?” That question is being answered loud and clear with the release of the magazine’s historic first issue. “Producing a printed version of Troop Soup Magazine was the next logical step in our quest to support West Virginia troops.”

“It’s an honor for us to support the military community in West Virginia,” stated Gilliam. “When we first launched the online publication, it was our goal to make this valuable resource available for free.” In keeping with this heart felt tradition, Gilliam hopes to distribute the magazine to members of the armed services, both home and abroad, at no charge to them.

To offset printing and distribution costs, Troop Soup Magazine will be offered to supporters through annual subscriptions. Single issues will be made available for purchase at retail outlets throughout West Virginia. In addition, businesses will have the opportunity to show their support with advertising in the publication.

“This is a new experience for us,” Gilliam said, “but we will do what it takes to continue our mission of honoring the men and women who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice so much for our freedom.”
