January 10, 2007 (Press Release) --
Washington, D.C. Native Teen Recording Ensemble ‘Profound Intent’ flops with pre-debut release in the USA. The two track ‘Play The Field’ cd-single released on December 13, 2006 via CD Baby fails to establish a market for Profound Intent’s music in their native USA. CINGULAR has the official ringtone for the single and Apples iTunes is carrying the album in its database, but radio stations across the USA don’t think that the single carries radio potential.
Despite the successful spin of the ‘Play The Field (SIREN REMIX)’ in USA nightclubs, the album is just not picking up. P.I.’s new manager Arthur Paul was hired post the release of the single and after the groups split from former Lead Singer Jahnae “Misty” Johnson” and her Uncle ‘Cooley Pegues’; the groups former manager. “This is not a record that the group was happy about when they recorded, and it’s surely not a record that they were ecstatic about releasing. The record was never intended to be recorded, and when it was recorded it was at the last minute when the groups’ former Lead Singer didn’t know her parts in the song that was slated to be the pre-debut or test single. We worked with what he had, and we now accept our departure from BETA Records as another valuable lesson learned and gained experience.” says Arthur Paul in a statement on behalf of Profound Intent and LaPret World ENT.
CD Baby has urged the groups label LaPret World ENT in which the single and cd released, not to continue to replicate the album on cd format. The distribution company will continue the digital distribution of the album and hopes that Profound Intent’s September 18, 2007 USA debut album release “The Big Bang” lives up to its name.
Meanwhile the professional recording leg of BETA Records LLC has dropped all associative contracts with LaPret World ENT with the dismissal of ‘Profound Intent’ as a BETA Records recording artist.
