MALAYSIA, Kuala Lumpur - Jan 14th, 2007 – FriendX.com, a personal networking service connecting friends, family, and work colleagues, today announced its member base exceeded 150,000. FriendX member base has grown by over 120% in the last two years, making the Website one of the Internet's largest communities in Malaysia.
According to Nielson//Net Ratings, most social networking sites were visited by over 12,828,000unique monthly visitors (Oct 2006). And the community sites adds approximately 1.5 million new members each month to its directories which include 200,000 schools, 1 million places of employment.
FriendX leads the Malaysia industry in subscriptions for paid content (avatar) with over 100,000 subscribers, and has sustained profitability since April 2005. Researcher Jupiter Media Metrix estimates that online subscription revenue will grow from $1.4 million this year to $5.8 million in 2007.
