FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
L.A. JohnTre shares her experience as a lesbian with a male appearance in the life and dating memoir Man with a Womb
ATLANTA, GA—JANUARY 18, 2007— L.A. JohnTre writes to close a file. A dominant lesbian shares her life and dating experiences. In Man with a Womb she explains how she attempted to hide her homosexuality during her elementary and high school years by appearing to be promiscuous to male classmates. She gives details of her brief heterosexual marriage; becoming a mother, coming out and discovering that she was a butch lesbian; and a 4-year domestic partnership full of infidelity and betrayal and the numerous women that she would date in Atlanta from 1995 to 2006.
L.A. JohnTre wrote Man with a Womb to educate the heterosexual community on the challenges and similarities of living life as a dominant lesbian. Heterosexual men can actually relate to the dating experiences in this book. A male reviewer writes,
“This is shocking. I guess dominant lesbians should be friends with straight men. We go through the same hurt, misuse and rejection. I used to despise lesbians like L.A. JohnTre, but after reading this book, I see them in a new light.” – T. Stith, Miami, Ohio.
Man with a Womb is also to inspire and inform younger gays and lesbians that there are roles required of them from the people that they date. Also, that there is such a thing as being dubbed, too gay. This is not what gay youths would expect from within the GLBT community but it does happen to some.
A complimentary review copy of the book is available for download from the website. Man with a Womb will be available for purchase online and in bookstores after February 1, 2007. (200 pages), Hardback $25.00 Paperback $14.95
