'Cool Runnings' Star Releases Reggae Album

Actor Leon celebrated with Hip-Hop Activist Raoul Juneja (a.k.a. Deejay Ra) at the Canadian music debut of Leon and his reggae band 'The Peoples', January 19th at the Docks Entertainment Complex in Downtown Toronto.
Leon's eagerly anticipated performance to commemorate the release of his debut reggae album, "The Road Less Traveled", took place under the banner of Jamaica legend Beres Hammond's 27-city North American tour. Hammond, a 1996 Canadian reggae music award winner, produced the song 'New Day' from Leon's debut album.
Leon has made his presence known in over 50 film, television and musical productions since 1983, starring opposite names such as Angela Bassett, Tom Cruise, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Anna Paquin, Sylvester Stallone, and Oprah Winfrey among others. Many first noticed Leon playing a saint in Madonna's 1989 music video 'Like A Prayer', but Leon's big break came when he starred opposite Canadian comedy legend John Candy in Disney's 1993 "Cool Runnings" film.
Soon after, Leon starred in "Above The Rim" opposite best selling rap musician of all time Tupac Amaru Shakur. Most recently Leon starred in the award-winning first and last season of HBO's "Oz" prison series, played rock and roll legend Little Richard in a celebrated TV movie directed by Robert Townsend, and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for his portrayal of David Ruffin in the Emmy award-winning "Temptations" film. No stranger to charitable and educational initiatives, Leon has worked extensively with the Upliftment Jamaica organization, headlined the NYC Aids Walk concert, and participated in Deejay Ra's 'Hip-Hop Literacy' campaign.
