January 26, 2007 (Press Release) --
With the political wind blowing opposite for the Mulayam Singh Yadav government, senior bureacrats from state seem to have all set to change their loyality ahead of forthcoming assembly polls as many of them have either secretly met the BSP leader Mayawati or held telephonic talk with her whole last week.
According to sources the senior bureacrats who are prepared to change thier loyality are headed by none other than the chief secretary Navin Chandra Bajpai, who reportedly telephoned to Mayawati last Friday apparently to inquire about her well being.
However, the sources say Bajpai did brief Mayawati about the functioning of the Yadav government and his plans for the polls. Surprisingly, Bua Singh, Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh and a close confident of the chief minister was the other senior officer who also telephoned her on Tuesday last.
Bua Singh once very close to Mayawati had switched over the Yadav after he assumed power in the state. He was promoted as DGP after some time. The DGP reportedly shared the details of law and order situation in the state.
Insiders say Mayawati wanted from him the detailed information about the Nithari incident in which more than dozen children were killed by a NOIDA based business man Mahender Singh Pandher and his domestic servant Surendra Koli.
The opposition including BSP has decided to make Nithari as their main poll plant during the assembly polls. Gathering exclusive information like link between the accused and loud-mouth general secretary of SP Amar Singh and Pandher.
According to sources close to the BSP supremo, the DGP during the course of their conversation confirmed the presence of Amar Singh at a late night party at Pandhers' NOIDA residence a few days before the incident was unearthed.
Besides, these two senior bureacrats, Ashutosh Pandey, SSP of Lucknow and ADG crime R K Tewari also met her secretary during their separate visits to Delhi late last week and they also shared information with her.
