January 30, 2007 (Press Release) --
Midway Games, a leading game publisher and developer, has announced that the "Hour of Victory" game is presently under development exclusively for the Xbox 360.
According to Midway, "Hour of Victory" is a new cinematic, first person shooter (FPS) experience set during World War II. It places gamers in a pivotal role as one of the three expert operatives in cinematic battles across Europe and North Africa.
"Hour of Victory" has been built using the powerful Unreal Engine 3.0. It combines authentic details from historic World War II battles, and adds in frenetic and cinematic gameplay.
The company claims that it will enable gamers to play each level in the style they choose, whether as a covert operative, specializing in stealth and sabotage; a British commando proficient in the guns-blazing frontal assault; or an Army ranger who excels in sniping and demolitions.
In addition, players will also be able to take control of any vehicle on the battlefield as they sharpen their skills to impact key battles from the European and North African Theaters.
"Hour of Victory", is scheduled to be available exclusively for Xbox 360 in the Summer of 2007.
In addition, Midway has also revealed that it will be bringing Epic's forthcoming PC FPS (first person shooter) "Unreal Tournament 2007" to the Xbox 360 as "Unreal Tournament III". The game is expected to be launched for gaming consoles, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 as well as for the PC in the second half of 2007.
Apart from the games for consoles, the company is planning to release new original handheld title; "Touchmaster," a Nintendo DS port of 23 of the company's long-running counter-top touch-screen games. It will feature a variety of mini-games such as card and puzzle games, skill-based challenges, and trivia titles.
