Hawaii resident is taking the first step in creating a state-wide educational standard for wedding planners in Hawaii by offering local wedding planning courses and certification

February 1, 2007 (Press Release) -- Hawaii resident Dawn Nash is on a mission to raise the standard of education and qualifications for wedding professionals operating within the state. Dawn, a certified wedding planner and small business coach recently became Hawaii’s first and currently only certified wedding planning instructor as commissioned by the nationally acclaimed Wedding Planning Institute. The introduction of a local wedding planning certification course may greatly affect the Hawaii bridal market in a positive way on several levels. However those who may be impacted the most will be Hawaii’s smaller bridal companies and independent wedding planners. While Hawaii has little to no legal requirements, the certification course will be a huge leap for current wedding professionals to enhance their current skills, knowledge and credentials. It is the first step in creating an industry wide educational standard for wedding planners in Hawaii. In addition to the educational benefits, it can also provide a huge competitive edge in an already highly competitive market. Certified wedding planners can clearly show clients that they studied their trade, have been tested and proven knowledge in the wedding planning field. While non-certified wedding planners may have nothing more to offer than their word. The Wedding Planning Institutes statistics show that given the choice, couples getting married today prefer to hire an experienced certified wedding planner over a wedding planner with experience alone. In addition, certified wedding planners tend to have a higher success rate. The certification course will finally give all Hawaii wedding planners the opportunity to study wedding planning locally. Two different certification courses are being offered.
