Do you remember your last trip downtown? What did you see on just about
every street corner? Correct, someone begging.
A lot of these beggars use the “feel sorry for me” approach and often even an animal which apparently is in need of food. Whichever method is chosen, the goal is usually the same: How can I get my next fix?
There are, however, a few beggars that may really use their money for
something necessary; this is usually the exception.
Now there is something new: The Internet Beggar...
I stumbled across a website, www.internetbeggar.us.tc by accident the
other day. There are two men begging for money.
What makes this website stand out is that these men really do not need
the money at all.They describe their situation like this: They both have families, good paying and secure jobs and no financial problems. What motivates them to do this are their dreams. They have dreams and goals of not having to work any longer, driving Porsches, seeing the world, spending more time with their families and paying off their homes. There is never any mention of heartaches or problems. This pure honesty is really impressive and fresh.
One can tell by the layout of their website that a lot of thought and
work was involved. The design is really something to see. They have also established a corporate identity throughout the website and have included a partner program. The whole package is very professionally done, and truly worth a visit.
If you actually donate something...well, that is totally up to the
individual. In my opinion, I would support the guys with a little donation. The openness and honesty of their story has really inspired me. And personaly believe that it is better to pay for a blinker bulb of a Porsche than to support the next bottle of Thunderbird.
