Queens… A Taste of the World
Join us on a journey through international dining only Queens can offer.
Indulge your palate with a flavorsome dish or a delectable treat as you stroll among more than forty participating restaurants at the Queens…A Taste of the World. Enjoy dishes from all over the world including Greek, Turkish, Thai, Korean, Mexican, Brazilian, Columbian, Ecuadorian and much more. Participating restaurants will vie for the awards of Best Appetizer, Best Entrée, Best Dessert, and Best Beverage, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Take a taste of them all then cast your vote. Queens Borough President Helen Marshall will be along for the tasting and present the winners with the Queens…A Taste of the World Awards.
Queens…A Taste of the world event will be held April 16, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Tickets are $85 dollars per person. To order tickets send a check or money order payable to: Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC), 120-55 Queens Blvd. Suite 309, Kew Gardens, NY 11424. Last years winners were Durso’s Pasta & Ravioli for Best Appetizer, Dazie’s for Best Entrée, Cascon Baking Company for Best Dessert, Tickers Nut House for Best Candy or Confection, Manhattan Beer for Best Drink and VOSS for best non-alcoholic drink. Past participating restaurants have included Austin Steak and Ale House, Bourbon Street Café, Dazie’s, Deluge, Durso’s Pasta and Ravioli Co., Erawan Seafood and Steak, Erawan Thai Cuisine, London Lennie’s, Mezzo Mezzo, Tequila Sunrise of Bayside, The Old Time Vincent’s Clam Bar & Italian Restaurant and the Wine Gallery Restaurant.
Queens… A Taste of the World is the fifth annual event to promote all the best in restaurants and dining Queens has to offer. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Queens Economic Development Corporation, a -501 (c) (3) tax exempt, not-for-profit organization whose programs and efforts provide broader access to economic opportunity for all businesses and residents of Queens.
