February 5, 2007 (Press Release) --
Five years ago, Alexandra Koiv was asked to create a pet cremation urn to hold the ashes of a dear friend's cat. From the creation of that first urn, Custom Pet Urns.com was born. Today the business has grown substantially and, as a result, Alexandra has added gallery-quality artists to the lineup of urn makers.
The pet cremation industry is growing at an incredible pace and pet owners are becoming more sophisticated in their choices. The concept of urns as art has gained momentous popularity as more people choose to keep their pet's ashes in their homes. Custom Pet Urns.com is filling that demand with hand crafted sculptures that work both as art and as urns.
"There are many urn companies online who offer urns, but not so many that look at urns as art," says Koiv, "I really want to bring a new aspect of beauty to the idea of an urn for your pet. By gathering these artists, I can offer true fine art to my customers. It has been a long-ignored niche."
Custom Pet Urns .com has newly added artists who can break out of the box of what a 'pet urn' is, and can see creating "art first and urn second". The artists include creators of large scale public sculpture, hand crafted brass artists, batik artists and dollmakers. Represented are James Hill, Steve Shelby, Ferril Nawir, Stacia Lang, and we are soon to be adding metal sculptor Bruce Gray and a few other special guests.
Custom Pet Urns is raising the bar on the design and creation of pet urns. As one customer writes, "I think it is wonderful what you do. I know it is going to make me feel better to honor her with such a special sculpture. I was so distraught with not knowing how to display how special she is now that she is gone and when I found your website I knew that this was the solution. Thank you for your creative solution and please keep doing what you do."
