Mompreneur creates an A-Z Guide of Everything Baby in Canada.

Becoming a parent is often a confusing and overwhelming process. Where do moms in Halifax find infant massage classes? Where can grandparents find personalized blankets as a baby gift in Vancouver? How do expecting parents in Edmonton find out about prenatal classes? How can sleep deprived parents in Toronto find a sleep doula? What is a sleep doula? There is now a website created specifically for new and expecting parents in Canada. They can click on the free website www.canadianbabies.ca

CanadianBabies.ca started with the website www.durhambabies.com in 2003. Sara Bingham, the website�s founder, remarks �when my family first moved to Durham Region with our 9-month old son, we had a hard time finding baby related services. We knew how to find these in Toronto, but Durham Region is really 9 municipalities linked together so it was hard to find one resource that had information about all things baby in the area. Our first site, DurhamBabies, was created to fill that need�.

After getting to know baby related businesses serving both Durham Region and Toronto, Ms. Bingham was encouraged to expand her Durham Region site to include Toronto. While thinking about expanding to one city, her supporters encouraged her to go national and include a range of other Canadian cities at the same time. The website www.canadianbabies.ca was created in February of 2006, and includes city sites for Durham Region, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.

A number of parenting experts and Canadian icons are regular contributors to site, including Erica Ehm, Ann Douglas, Kathy Buckworth and Elizabeth Pantley to name a few. Rebecca Eckler has promised to add her voice to the site as well. Other features on the sites include: expert articles; directories of products and services; monthly contests; family friendly events, monthly newsletters and a friendly forum.
