New Balance, a leading athletic shoe manufacturer, enlists the help of Paxar to comply with their customer-specific labeling requirements and discovers increased productivity and lowered costs.
For_Immediate_Release:

February 8, 2007 (Press Release) -- WHITE PLAINS, NY, February 7, 2007--Paxar Corporation (NYSE: PXR), a global leader providing bar code, RFID and identification technologies for the retail supply chain and the supplier of Monarch® products and services, helps New Balance, a leading althletic shoe manufacturer, comply with its customer requirements for specialized UPC price and inventory labels.

Because several of New Balance's customers required the shoe boxes to display a different customer-specific UPC price and inventory label, the labeling process was difficult and time consuming.

With the help of Paxar and its unique state-of-the-art Monarch® Pathfinder® Ultra® Platinum printer, when New Balance employees need to print customer required labels, they simply select a pre-loaded retailer-specific program on the Ultra printer and scan the box. The handheld Ultra Platinum printer does the rest--looking up the information required, printing and applying the label in one easy motion.

According to New Balance's Distribution Operations Manager, Bob Mancini, "The Ultra Platinum printer is more productive and far more accurate than our old method. Because it is so productive and easy, we now take what started as a mandated necessity for a few customers and turn it into a value-add sales asset for New Balance. This solution is far and away the best I've seen."

The Ultra Platinum printer's scan, print and apply capabilities can "single handedly improve productivity" not only in manufacturing facilities, but also on retail floors, receiving docks, distribution centers and warehouses.
