Bangalore, India, Feb 7, 2007 – Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, today signed a contract with Aero Club of India for 11 Cessna 172 sky hawks.
The aircraft will be equipped with the Garmin G1000 “glass panel” avionics suite, representing the latest in training technology.
The Aero Club of India is a branch of the Indian Department of Civil Aviation and the club will distribute the sky hawks to their regional member flying clubs.
“The Aero Club of India is introducing an aircraft to their members that is easy to fly , reliable , and has a reputation for dependability,” said bob Gibbs , director of international sales for Cessna single –engine aircraft.” with the sky hawk’s excellent flying characteristics and the world.”
As the largest manufacturer of general aviation aircraft in the world, Cessna generated $4.2 billion in sales and delivered 1,239 single-engine piston, turboprop and turbofan aircraft in 2006.of those deliveries, 865 were single-engine piston aircraft.
