Shannon Kish is no different. In December of 2004, Shannon was forced to say goodbye to her mother, Victoria J. Kish. Victoria was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin�s T-Cell Lymphoma only two weeks prior to her death.

The National Cancer Institute estimates that in the year 2007, there will be 63,190 new cases of Non-Hodgkin�s lymphoma and 18,660 deaths from the same disease. Since 1975, researchers have been able to find many ways to reduce the amount of deaths by the 10 most common forms of cancer drastically. Unfortunately, lymphoma was not one of these cancers.

For 19 years, Team in Training, a division of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, has provided a way for people to better their own health while simultaneously raising funding for the research of Leukemia, Lymphoma and other blood cancers. When Shannon heard about the opportunity to meet her New Year�s resolution and also honor her mother, she jumped at the chance.
