February 23, 2007 (Press Release) --
Indie rockers Midas are now preparing to take the UK charts by storm. Chart rules allow unsigned bands like Midas to use a system of online and text-based pre-ordering so that they can rack up sales in advance of the song's official release date.
The band recorded their single "Don't Dance" with legendary producer Gavin Monaghan, who is well-known for his work with Editors, Nizlopi and most recently The Twang.
The track received it’s first radio airplay Kerrang! Radio on Tuesday 12th December. DJ Steve Harris played the track on his primetime evening show, and initially asked the public to text in their comments. However, he had to ask fans to STOP texting after a deluge of positive comments caused their text handling system to malfunction. The track was added to their playlist the next day.
Since then, Midas have gained a host of support across UK radio and press, and played a live acoustic session with Janice Long on Radio 2 on Monday 12th February.
Midas have recently worked with Mark Anand’s DMI Productions to create a stunning video for “Don’t Dance”. Anand is well-known for his work with top US dramas such as Lost, Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. He is no stranger to music videos, having crafted Hard-Fi’s video for their debut single “Cash Machine”.
Since uploading the video to their Myspace site (www.myspace.com/midas), the band have received a host of positive comments from excited fans.
