Halogen Records Helping to Develop Young Music Business Majors and Strengthen the Local Music Community

Montpelier, VT�February 23, 2007

Halogen Records Inc. has announced some exciting news and its plans to help further develop the local music community and music education.

Halogen Records, represented by Justin Hoy, was the spark that led to the flame of Lyndon State College�s, new Bachelor of Science degree in Music Business & Industry. Conversations with Hoy produced a cross-disciplinary think-tank meeting which resulted in the development of the new major. LSC is a Liberal Arts-based institution with an enrollment of approx 1400 students, located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Lyndon State College is indebted to Halogen Records for the inspiration and impetus for the MBI degree program.� States DR. Elizabeth Norris Assistant Professor of Fine and Performing Arts


The degree plan consists of students enrolling in an �Industry Core� which includes business, music and digital media courses (for a total of 32 credits) and then add a 16-credit concentration of courses that will focus the student in a specialization of additional business, music or digital media courses. Crucial to the major is the internship which will place students in areas associated with their degree plan. Lyndon State College and will continue to partner with Halogen Records and their partners as students begin to undertake internships in the field.

In addition, Halogen Records has announced the signing of local singer songwriter Aaron Flinn to a distribution and development deal. Aaron Flinn is prolific songsmith and multi-instrumentalist who has been performing and recording original material to rave reviews internationally for over a dozen years. He has just released his sixth full length album, "Giving up the Ghost", to great critical and commercial success and will continue to develop with Halogen.
