February 26, 2007 (Press Release) --
San Francisco, CA (PCPR) 02/23/2007- 17-year-old, singer/songwriter Erin Jennae (pronounced Je-Nay) has, until now, enjoyed an indistinct life as a semi-popular, high school senior in the California central valley town of Stockton. But how swiftly life has changed for this bubbly, yet charismatic, teenager. Similar to the Disney character, Hannah Montana, Erin Jennae lived as a normal teenager by day and singer/songwriter/actress/model by night. Her community and peers were shocked once media got wind of her current entertainment success. In December 2006, Erin’s likeness was released in the “Pimp My Ride” video game, based off of the popular MTV show bearing the same name. The very next month, Erin received the prestigious rank of becoming a Billboard Charting Artist with her up-tempo dance song, “Bone Out”, featuring hyphy rapper Turf Talk (SickWit It Records- E-40), entering the R&B/Hip Hop Singles Sales Charts at #15 and peaking during her fourth week at #5. Within the first week of releasing “Bone Out” (a slang term meaning “leave”, “go”), Erin Jennae shared the ranks with Oscar Award Winners Three 6 Mafia and top urban artists Chris Brown and Twista, when her song became one of the top 5 downloaded songs of the week worldwide on prominent music service Digiwaxx. Her full length CD is due to be released summer of 2007.
“Only my close friends and family knew that I was currently working on my music, but even my friends didn’t know about the modeling or acting until one of them played the [Pimp My Ride] video game and called me laughing about a character that looked and acted just like me,” Erin giggled. The media has seemed to gravitate toward Erin Jennae not only for her success, but also for the unique dynamic of her family’s involvement in her budding career. Father, J.D. Burrise, who also saw his share of success in the music industry as the lead singer for a popular funk band in the 70’s and 80’s called 9th Creation, is now the CEO of her independent record label Port City Records. Her mother, Maureen, was the first to give Erin her singing lessons and her brother, J.D. “Buggs” Burrise III, is her primary music producer/collaborator. Sister Andi Burrise manages Erin’s career as well as collaborates on the creative end and the rest of her six-sibling-crew are her biggest supporters.
Father J.D. states, “This is a tough business on a person at any age and not something I wanted Erin to pursue. But since her determination and talents were undeniable, we allowed her give it a shot and decided to make sure she was surrounded by strong family support in order to keep a sense of normalcy. Everyone that meets Erin knows immediately that they’re dealing with a real teenager with a great head on her shoulders.”
