March 2, 2007 (Press Release) --
The 3G Stepper (3gstepper.com), perhaps best described as a cross between a bicycle and an elliptical fitness machine, is already making waves overseas, and now those who live in the U.S. will have an opportunity to own one as well.
The 3G Stepper is a seat-less bike propelled when users push down on two steps while standing. Benefits of the 3G Stepper extend beyond its travel capabilities. As an environmentally-friendly vehicle that also works both the upper and lower body, the 3G Stepper has been hailed as a highly-effective fitness device.
“[It’s a] great all-body workout,” The LA Times raved. “Rocking side-to-side as your feet push the wood platforms works arms, chest, back and midsection as well as legs…. The bike cruises at 15 mph. The standing position is arguably better for your posture than a normal-seated bike, and [one] can easily ride it for an hour straight or more, making it a viable replacement for other workout activities.”
3G Stepper is the brainchild of Gary Silva, founder of Phat Cycles and 3G Bikes, and the creator of the modern-day chopper. Silva partnered with Ideal Bicycle Corp. to manufacture the Steppers. Advanced Sports, Inc., a U.S.-based distribution company, will be in charge of North American distribution.
“My Stepper is the most unique and stylish bike at the beach,” said Greg Ortega, one of the first Stepper owners in the U.S. “I use it to get a quick workout or sometimes to just cruise around. Everywhere I go people ask me about the bike and where they can get one.”
The 3G Stepper comes with fantastic features, like handlebars that adjust for height and angle, up to eight speeds and a frame built with the toughest 6061 heat-treated tubing.
All five 3G Stepper models are available through Advanced Sports, Inc. 3G Bikes offers a Junior model for kids age 5 to 8, all the way up to the exclusive Hammer model for adults.
