Parks Associates and EH Publishing Join Forces to Monitor Home Systems Integration/Installation Channels
March 7, 2007, Orlando, Fl — Parks Associates and EH Publishing today announced a research alliance that combines their expertise in the home systems integration space to provide high-level data and analysis on the players, market dynamics, and future trends for this rapidly expanding channel. Current growth in the home systems integration/custom installation channel will push U.S. residential sales revenues to nearly $10 billion in 2007, due in large part to expanding business models and more affordable technologies, according to Parks Associates.
“Low-voltage specialists are branching out from their traditional, very wealthy clientele,” said Bill Ablondi, director of home systems research for Parks Associates. “At the same time, other trades are acquiring the necessary skills to install home systems, and IT specialists are entering the industry to capitalize on opportunities based on IP technology. As you add in the potential revenues from firms serving markets further down the pyramid, not only does the diversity increase, but so too does the volume.”
In this new research alliance, Parks Associates and EH Publishing will both contribute expertise and survey data into a series of jointly authored research projects, providing clients with in-depth coverage of the home systems integration space.
“Monitoring this channel activity requires a unique breadth of resources and skills,” said Daryl Delano, director of research for EH Publishing. “EH Publishing and Parks Associates together are in the unique position to not only monitor the channels but influence their growth by helping companies capitalize on advancements in technology, changes in consumer requirements, and the emergence of completely new opportunities.”
Parks Associates has been deeply involved with all aspects of the market for digital systems and services for more than 20 years. “One question we are hearing is ‘Why is the market expanding now?’” said Tricia Parks, founder and CEO of Parks Associates. “Consumers are ready, affordable systems are available, and broadband adoption has created the necessary infrastructure for adoption of home systems that, just a few years ago, only the top 2-3 percent of American households could afford.”
“This Alliance represents a significant extension for the EH Research business. More importantly, the Alliance gives the industry a great research resource from the companies, Parks Associates and EH Publishing, who have been information leaders in this growing market for over a decade,” said Kenneth D. Moyes, President and Founder of EH Publishing, Inc. “Collectively, we have access to more quality and valid information about almost every aspect of the industry.”
