Oklahoma City, OK, March 9, 2007 Debra Murray, President of Blue Spring International, Oklahoma-based provider of pure and natural products to promote balanced health and wellness, was one of eleven companies chosen by NAWBO and the US Department of Commerce, to represent U.S. women business owners at the Women in Business Mission to Europe. The American Embassy hosted this mission to the Netherlands and Belgium on February 4-9, 2007, including the cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Brussels. Debra Murray says, “The trip was very worthwhile. We were able to enjoy the beauty and culture of Amersterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels and Antwerp. The commercial services of the United States Embassy did an excellent job of screening and setting up appointments in each location. We met with distributors, wholesalers, direct sellers and a very large drug distribution company and all were interested in our products.”
“NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) and its Director Erin Fuller did a first rate job in making sure everything went smoothly. We now have the next steps for distributing our product in the international market. We also have our new found friends at the American Embassies Commercial Services to help us each step of the way.”
The eleven participating U.S. companies were looking for business contacts/partnership opportunities in Europe. More than 160 million consumers live within a 300-mile radius of Rotterdam and more than half of the Netherlands GDP is generated by activities beyond its borders. Belgium is located within a 375-mile radius of 70% of the EUs million inhabitants. Belguim’s diverse, competitive market makes it an ideal European test venue for U.S. products.
