March 9, 2007 (Press Release) --
Indianapolis-based ETS Tan, the world’s largest manufacturer of tanning and spa beds, will debut a prototype spa bed called the RejuvaSpa™ Sunday at the International Beauty Show in New York City.
The RejuvaSpa™ offers users full-body light therapy sessions through Lumalite™ C lamps and strong, non-tanning LED panels that emit light pulses in specific frequencies and colors that help skin appear younger, smoother, healthier and more vibrant.
“The wavelengths associated with these special lamps and panels are 10 times stronger and brighter than we’ve produced before, meaning the RejuvaSpa™ effectively stimulates and benefits the skin’s total-body appearance and feel,” said Marny Reed, director of marketing and product development at ETS Tan. “If given the green light, this spa bed will be the first that we are aware of in the marketplace to offer skin rejuvenation sessions for the total body.”
The RejuvaSpa™ would be ETS Tan’s second venture into manufacturing a spa bed that offers photomodulation, or light therapy, to benefit skin. In November, ETS Tan debuted the Rejuvasun™ spa bed, a unit that provides light therapy for facial and neck area separately or simultaneously with traditional, all-body tanning.
While the Rejuvasun™ gives users a choice of light therapy treatment alone, all-body tanning alone or a combination of both within one 20-minute session, the prototype RejuvaSpa™ does not offer tanning – the RejuvaSpa™ features light therapy only and does not emit ultraviolet rays.
Reed said the idea for the RejuvaSpa™ originated more than two years ago from feedback from salons that ETS supplies tanning units. Salon owners desired to give their customers a relaxing, rejuvenating experience without offering indoor tanning sessions. “We believe this product will appeal to the body and skin conscious individuals who want healthy looking and healthy feeling skin,” Reed said.
The International Beauty Show runs Sunday through Tuesday (March 11-13) and offers a wide range of educational classes for salon and spa owners and managers, skin care specialists, cosmetologists, stylists and more. Free seminars will be presented by leading experts in the fields of dermatology and spa services and equipment. For more about the International Beauty Show, visit http://show.ibsnewyork.com.
MEDIA ADVISORY: Representatives from ETS Tan will be available on-site throughout the International Beauty Show for interview and product demonstrations. ETS Tan will showcase the prototype RejuvaSpa™ spa bed in booth No. 3667 at the event.
